Theres Still Time - Holiday Outreach!

Posted over 1 year ago

Hello NAPNAP members,

NAPNAP is teaming up with the Advanced Practice Provider (APP) Service and Community Engagement (SCE) Committee at Phoenix Children's Hospital to spread holiday joy to as many children as possible this holiday season! If you're wondering how to give back to your community around the holidays- look no further!

We have "adopted" a cabin from Canyon State Academy for the holidays. The APP SCE committee will provide dinner, play games, and drop off Christmas presents for the boys on December 18th. If you would like to help by buying the boys presents, here is the Canyon State Wishlist. You can also venmo the lead for this project, Carey Lewis, @Carey-Lewis-4 or Zelle with her phone number 847-456-3456 with the note "for Canyon State Academy" and she will purchase the presents and food for the boys. Canyon State Academy is a foster school which "seeks to help at-risk children and adolescents to develop self-respect and self-confidence while providing vital social, educational and vocational skills to allow youth to return to their communities as productive young adults."

We have also "adopted" the students from St. Michael's Association for Special Education in Window Rock, AZ. This school provides education as well as physical therapy, occupational therapy, and speech therapy to children with developmental and physical disabilities from all over the Navajo Nation. They also provide assisted living for students over the age of 18. They have created an amazon wishlist for their students. Rather than send the presents directly to the school (which is on a dirt road that in winter is difficult for delivery services to get to), they have provided an alternative address. Please send the presents to: Henrietta Bia, 200 Kaibeto Drive, Window Rock, AZ 86515. She is an employee of the school.

Please let us know if you have any questions about any of these projects. NAPNAP thanks you for your support with these projects!!
Happy Holidays!
